PARTY FOOD ORDERS
How to book
To book a party food delivery or collection, please call us on 01825 891267 or 07985 915505 or email on firstname.lastname@example.org. We will take your details and your party details and will consult with you to choose the menu to suit you. Following this a draft confirmation email will be sent from Mad Hatter Party Food which will outline the agreed menu, party details and cost. Please check all details on this draft confirmation. Once details are agreed you will receive a confirmation invoice by email, to be used as your invoice for payment of the deposit, or if it is 5 or less days before the party, payment in full. This invoice will also state payment date for the balance of the booking. An order is not secured on a food booking until a 50% deposit has been received and a confirmation email has been sent by Mad Hatter Party Food. Payments are accepted by cash, cheque or bank transfer. The remaining 50% of the order value is payable 5 days before the party date, when exact numbers for the party need to be confirmed. Please note a late booking fee of £20 is payable to orders made less than 5 days before the party date. Ownership of the food ordered passes to the customer upon leaving Mad Hatter Party Foods premises at Framfield Chapel, The Street, Framfield, TN22 5NT.
Please note a party booking includes all items - food and other items booked in conjunction with the food booking. All items which are due for delivery or collection at the same time constitute a booking.
Cancellations and refunds
Once an order has been booked and paid for, we are unable to offer any refunds for any reason you no longer require the food you have ordered, or the products ordered through the site. If you would like to transfer the order to a different venue at the same time this may be possible, please note charges may apply for delivery if it is to a different address than was originally booked.
Due to the short shelf-life of food, and forward bookings we are unable to move your party to another date should the original date be cancelled.
In exceptional circumstances and purely at our sole discretion, we may agree to move your booking to another date but, as this will involve significant administration in terms of rearranging dates, wastage of food and co-ordinating bookings, if we agree to move a booking a £25 admin fee will be charged. Moving a booking date is not always possible so please don’t assume this will be the case if you contact us to change a date. There is no automatic right to move a booking date if you contact us about this.
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a booking, we will offer an alternative date(s) to you and if no alternative date is acceptable, we will provide you with a full refund of the cost of your booking. Our liability is limited to the cost of your booking. By purchasing a booking, you accept that our liability is limited to the cost of the booking and you cannot make a claim for costs of other arrangements you may have made whatever they may be. For the avoidance of doubt, this includes repalcement food costs, venue charges, or anything else.
In the event of bad weather, such as snow we will use best endeavours to ensure your order reaches you, however if a booking is cancelled by us due to bad weather such as snow, we will use best endeavours to reschedule your booking. If you party is cancelled due to bad weather, such as snow, please see general terms of cancellation above.
SHOP TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Mad Hatter Party Food is the operator of the online shop. Any orders placed in the online shop are between the Customer and Mad Hatter Party Food.
How do I place an order?
To place an order in the shop, just chose the product(s) you would like and press “Add to Cart”. The products will then appear in your Shopping Cart.
When you have added all your products, go into your cart by clicking on the cart icon in the top right of the page. You will be taken to the Check Out page but you will be able to review your order prior to purchasing.
You will then need to enter your billing details and you will be asked to “Make Payment”. When you select Make Payment, you will be taken to PayPal to complete your transaction.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes. We use PayPal for the processing of all payments and you will be able to enter your debit or credit cards via PayPal. We do not receive or have access to any card details. YOU DO NOT NEED A PAYPAL ACCOUNT to use the Mad Hatter Party Food shop.
We aim to despatch all orders in UK that are received Monday to Friday within 24 hours using royal mail. If you would like your order tracked or a faster delivery please contact us for a quote. As we are reliant on third parties not operated by Mad Hatter Party Food (for example, the Royal Mail), we do not accept responsibility for loss caused by the third party failure to deliver a parcel on time. Ownership of the goods ordered passes to the customer upon Mad Hatter Party Food obtaining proof of postage. We will assist in any investigation should your parcel be delayed locally in delivery.
Should a parcel be damaged by the party delivering, we will replace the goods and investigate the matter. We may need you to return the damaged parcel and/or provide evidence to support any claim we make for damaged goods.
We obtain full proof of postage for each order so we can always prove it has been posted should it not arrive at its destination.
In the event a parcel does not arrive, you must notify us within 14 days that it was been lost. We are unable to take any action (such as contacting the postal services) for 28 days as the post office insists certain time periods have passed before they will conduct an investigation.
Returns and Refunds
We do not offer refunds if you change your mind but should a product arrive damaged or incomplete for any reason, we would offer a full refund provided you return the unused goods to us in their original packaging.

We may collect information about your name and address, contact email address and telephone number. We require this information to provide you with a better service and for internal record keeping and accounting, postage of products that you may have bought from our website, and to contact you in
relation to future offers and classes that may be available. We may also pass your phone number to Mad Hatter Party Food and our courier service to assist them in delivering your parcel on time. If you do not wish us to contact you, please notify us by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org informing us that you do not wish to be contacted in relation to any offers.
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place a suitable procedure to safeguard the information we collect from you. We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties except Mad Hatter Party Food at any time. We do not record or keep any financial information at any time. We are entitled to use certain information (although not personal details like name, address and phone numbers of individuals) for our own marketing purposes.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
All bookings are subject to the laws and jurisdiction of England and Wales.
GENERAL TERMS APPLICABLE
Sarah Boorman (trading as Mad Hatter Party Food) shall not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these terms and conditions that is caused by events outside our reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”).
A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-occurrence, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes, in particular (but without limitation), the following:
(i) extreme weather conditions preventing deliveries or parties taking place for any reason including, but not limited to snow, rain, storm, fire or floods or any natural disaster whatever;
(ii) impossibility or difficulties with the use of any relevant means of public or private transport for any reason;
(iii) impossibility or difficulties with the use of public or private telecommunications networks;
(iv) inability to receive materials necessary for bookings due to a third party supplier failure which was beyond Mad Hatter Party Food's control;
(v) civil unrest, riots, strikes, transport delays and anything connected with such events.
Our obligations under these terms and conditions are suspended for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, and we will have an extension of time to perform these obligations for the duration of that period.
In the case of food bookings, we will take reasonable steps to bring the Force Majeure Event to a close or to find a solution by which our obligations under these terms and conditions can be performed despite the Force Majeure Event. Where possible, we will reschedule the booking to a different date or offer voucher for use at a future date (not beyond 12 months from the issue of the voucher) to take the booking. No refund will be provided unless agreed otherwise in writing. However, we do not guarantee that we can reschedule a booking so each case will be treated on an individual basis.
In the case of party food bookings, should a Force Majeure Event prevent the making or delivery of cupcakes, we will use reasonable endeavours to find an alternative solution including delivery of the food on a different date. No refund can be provided if the Force Majeure Event occurs 5 days or less before the booking date..
Once payment has been paid, a contract will be non-cancellable by the customer. Ordering mistakes by customers with regard to dates will not constitute grounds of cancellation. Notwithstanding the above, acceptance of cancellation by Mad Hatter Party Food in exceptional circumstances and any refund or part refund will be solely at the discretion of the proprietor of Mad Hatter Party Food.
To the maximum extent permissible in law, the proprietor of Mad Hatter Party Food excludes all liability to any loss or consequential loss however incurred by the Customer, arising from any or omission or failure by Mad Hatter Party Food in connection with the contract.
In any event the maximum liability of the proprietor of Mad Hatter Party Food will be not more that the purchase price of the products or services under the contract, should the contract be cancelled for any reason.
If occasionally run special offers we usually post them to our facebook page. Only one special offer can be used against a booking. Special offers cannot be combined or used in conjunction with other special offers.
All special offers can be withdrawn at any time. If so, any changes will not affect those who have already purchased pursuant to the offer.
All content on Mad Hatter Party Food website, Facebook page, Twitter and Pinterest account is the intellectual property of Sarah Boorman (trading as Mad Hatter Party Food). As stated, the above terms and conditions mean that by ordering with Mad Hatter Party Food you agree to be bound by these terms.
